Keynote speakers
Bruno Watier is a professor at the University of Toulouse. After earning an engineering degree, he obtained his PhD in biomechanics from ENSAM Paris. He has recently undertaken extended research stays at the AIST-CNRS Joint Robotics Laboratory (JRL) in Tsukuba, Japan, and at the Université de Sherbrooke in Canada. He served as President of the French Society of Biomechanics from 2021 to 2024. His research focuses broadly on human motor performance and human–robot interaction.
The CALL project: an interdisciplinary framework for human-robot interaction
Eiichi Yoshida is Professor of Tokyo University of Science, at Department of Department of Medical and Robotic Engineering Design, Faculty of Advanced Engineering, since 2022. He received Ph. D degree from Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo in 1996. He then joined former Mechanical Engineering Laboratory, later in 2001 reorganized as National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Tsukuba, Japan. He served as Co-Director of AIST-CNRS JRL (Joint Robotics Laboratory) at LAAS-CNRS, Toulouse, France, from 2004 to 2008, and at AIST, Tsukuba, Japan from 2009 to 2021. He is Fellow of IEEE and received awards including Best Paper Award in Advance Robotics Journal, and the honor of national medal from French Government. His research interests include humanoid robotics, human modeling and task and motion planning for robots.
Modeling and Learning Contact-Rich Interactions for Humans and Humanoid
A Fellow of ASME, Professor Chang received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, USA in 2001. With a mix of IBM/Hitachi advanced magnetic disk drive R&D in Silicon Valley, California and academic careers in USA, New Zealand and Taiwan, his research in mechatronics, robotics, mechanical vibrations, dynamic systems and control, smart machinery and manufacturing have archived in more than 200 journal/conference papers and more than 30 invention patents.
Yusuke Yoshiyasu received the Ph.D. degree from Keio University, Japan. He was a Visiting Scholar with the Leonidas Guibas Laboratory, Computer Science Department, Stanford University, from 2015 to 2016. He is currently a Senior Research Scientist with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan. He is the leader of the Computer Vision Research Team, AI Research Center. He is an Adjunct Member of CNRS-AIST Joint Robotics Laboratory (JRL). His current research interests include shape analysis, computer vision, robot vision, and machine learning.
