Workshop on dynamic human-robot systems interaction, in conjunction with the IEEE/SICE SII 2027 conference Kobe International Conference Center in Kobe, Japan

Humaro

Introduction

Many researchers and companies are working on the central challenge of robotic control, broadly defined, in interaction with human subjects. However, the variability in human behavior currently prevents the development of a real-time, seamless, and safe solution to this problem. In this context, the workshop aims to gather recent top contributors to the field to accelerate advancing the best methods and control models for interactive systems. More precisely, to date, various approaches have emerged to address this complex issue, including learning-based models, optimal control strategies, and other methods. But the central challenge of control laws for a robotic system (robot, exoskeleton, prosthesis, etc.) in interaction remains an open problem in ensuring the integrity and safety of the human subject. The workshop will focus on real-time, human-centered control strategies to guide future research directions and project proposals. Intersecting expertise in life sciences (biomechanics, rehabilitation, assistive technologies), engineering (robotics, prosthetics, exoskeletons, computer vision), and digital sciences (optimization, simulation, artificial intelligence), the expected outcome is to define and develop a unified framework for the personalized proactive control of the robots. In the long run, such a framework will open up wide perspectives in the context of Industry 5.0 under ecological conditions that are of great interest to robotics companies and end-users for personalized human-robot interactions.
